NPTEL (National Programme on Technology Enhanced Learning), a project of the Ministry of Human Resources Development, Govt. of India, is conducting a one day awareness workshop for the NPTEL Video / Audio course.

Participants from following discipline of Engineering attended the workshop- Automobile Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Computer Science and Engineering. Faculty who attended the workshop were with 1-10 years of teaching experience, who are teaching and chosen from different colleges in Odisha. In large, it benefits Faculty, Scientist, Research scholars, students who attended the workshop.
The department of Mechanical Engineering, GIET conducted a seminar on 'Advanced Composite Materials and Application' on 30th November. Prof. Sashikanta Panigrahi, the concern HOD, DIAT, Pune has joined us as the key note speaker, delivered his expertise on the very topic ‘Strain energy Release Rate in Fiber Reinforced Plastic’ composite structure.
A seminar was organized on the topic of ‘Cement Content of Future Concrete without compromising the strength aspects’ on nov 30th 2012.Mr. S.P.Santra, Regional Head-Technical(odisha), ultratech Cement Ltd. Joined as the Chief Guest and keynote speaker of the occasion.
The topic of Dr. Sudip Mishra‘s talk was ‘Wireless Ad-Hoc and Sensor Network’ which is valued as one of the focused areas as computer science today.
An expert talk was arranged on the topic of ‘Projects Executed by simplex infrastructure Ltd. From Bhubaneswar to Chandikholon 24th Nov. 2012.
There was seminar conducted by the institute on 19th nov. 2012 in which the General Manager, NALCO, MR.B.B.Nayak joined as the key note speaker. The topic of the talk being ‘Effectiveness in Technical Skill’. He delivered a powerful informational converse to our student.
Dr. Ashok Kumar Panda, the state head of well known Hindi Daily ‘SUNMARG’ delivered a very rational and motivational talk on the social life of a person what he gained out of his long experience and analytical knowledge.
A two days National Seminar was organized in GIET by the department of Electrical and Electronics engineering and ISTE, NEW DELHI on the topic ” National Seminar on ‘Power Electronics and Energy System” the eminent professor from bput, BBSR PROF. Dr. K.C.PATRA former principal ,IGIT ,Sarang was invited as chief guest along with Professor Dr. P.K.Hota , Principal ,CET and Professor Dr. Sidhartha Panda, HOD,EEE, VSSUT, Burla as the guest of Honour. They delivered a key note address on the recent development on the specified topic power electronics.
A two days National Seminar was held in GIET by the department of Electronics and Communication Engineering and ISTE, NEW DELHI during 13-14 sep, 2012. The most eminent personality Prof. Dr. Ganapati Panda, Deputy Director, IIT, BHUBANESWAR was invited as the chief guest of the occasion. Prof. R.P.Das, Principal ,PCET, Vishakhapatnam along with Dr. P.K. Hota ,Senior Manager,BSNL,BBSR were invited as the guest of honour,they delivered key note addresses on the recent advances in communication and signal processing.
Mr. sushant Panda , MD Syum Technology, Mumbai, Mr. Avinash Sankholkar Specialist in EPC IT consulting, Mumbai and Mr. Sharad Nene, Vice President at Syum technology Pvt. Limited linked with IBM as a business partner, the highly experienced software personnel visited GIET,BBSR on account of sharing their knowledge and expertise on cloud computing.
A workshop was organized by the department of MECH engineering guided by Mr. Santi Swarup Mohapatra, Director , softcad world, Division of India International Education Trust. They worked on the aspect of PTC customers across the country, join openings across Asia pack, PTC suite of solutions, PTC academic programmatic, etc.
The Institute conducts regular Conference on the emerging topics inside the campus with active participation of the students as well as faculties.
